Potty Trained Dogs

Question: do professional dog trainers Potty Train Dogs?

my parents sent my dog to the pound today and i have been balling my eyes out all day!
im trying to think of anything to get her back. they got rid of her because she is not potty trained
and we have tried to train her but it didnt work out. i live over in omaha nebraska but do you know of
anyone who could help or a website that i could go to? i am very desperate.

Answer: Sweetie, your parents were just looking for an excuse to get rid of that dog. Even if you wanted to housetrain your dog, you need the support of your parents to be successful. A trainer teaches you how to train your dog, they don’t do it for you. Training takes commitment and it appears your parents don’t have any to this dog. You can try printing this and showing it to them, but I wouldn’t count on it. Please discourage them from getting another pet in the future as the same thing will happen to that dog as well. It’s not fair to the dog or to you.

Try printing this one for them as well. They REALLY need to read this:

I’m very sorry you and your dog both have to go through this. It’s sad that you have more empathy than they do. At least you know that dogs take training so when you get older and move out, you can do it the right way (and show them how it’s done).

Puggle Dogs Potty Training

Question: which dog would suits me?

we want a dog. 3 kids 6+. least shedding pos.
main choices:puggle, shichon(teddy bear)

circumstances—–mom wants a cuddle dog, i want a playful but not hyper(take on walks, jogs, play fetch, etc) NOT known to bite, tear stuff up, run away. easy to potty train, good with strangers and other dogs BIGGER than it(neighbors) does ok in cold wisconsin winters ( will go outside for bathroom, wont go housecrazy) will be alone a few hours each day. thanks a ton…by the way, those are things that we hope for /dont hope for from it.

of course there will be flaws, but which do you think would best suit my family?

by the way this april we are leaving for 10 days the dog will prob. end up in doggy day care during this.
thanks for the extra choices but what i meant by the question was which one of the two would suit us best… again thanks for the other names but it must be small and “cute” my families stuck on these 2 breeds(we call them breeds even though they’re mixes)

Answer: Puggles are good dogs, but sometimes they can be crazy. Beagles are good cuddle dogs and running dogs and they are easy to train. they have been used for hunting dogs so they are smart. You should try the local shelter because the best dog is a dog that is given a second chance. a lot of these dogs are also trained, and used to other dogs already. I would think your best best would be a beagle for why you want a dog. for the winters you can always put a little coat on him for going outside. They shed, but not as bad as some dogs do :)

Other dogs include, Lab, Golden, any type of mutt, Pug, jrt(be careful, can be nuts), boxers are great family dogs, pitbulls (they are great dogs, and good family dogs too) along with rott’s.

Potty Training Dogs With Pee Pads

potty training dogs with pee pads
Question: How can I train my dog to use pee pads if they’re already trained to Go Potty Outside?

I have an 8 month old puppy who is completely potty trained to Go Potty Outside. Due to my living situation changing, she no longer has someone home with her all day. Although, a dog walker comes once a day to let her out while I am at work (between 8a-5p) – I want her to be able to use a potty pad if she needs to go to the bathroom and no one is home. When I’m home and she has to go to the bathroom, she goes over to the door and barks.

How do I train her to use potty pads and still go outside too?

Answer: Being let out once in that time frame should be enough. You don’t need to worry about pee pads.
