Question: Is it bad to train my dog with raisins?

I have a boggle(1/2 Boston terrier 1/2 beagle) and he’s 4months old..Anyways I was sitting at my desk on the computer Eating Raisins and My Dog just went crazy trying to get them so I made him get down..Then I motioned for him to sit and he did so, I gave him the raisin and so know we got the whole sit down part done..Im also potty training him whenever he goes outside and he poops or pees I give him like a couple of raisins when he’s done to reward him a little…I was just wondering are raisins bad for him or anything?
First off Thank you all. I really didnt know they where bad for him but thank you no more raisins for him… Is there anything kinda like raisins that I can give him cause he loves them I duno why but he does???

Raisins/grapes are KNOWN for having a deadly, toxic effect on canines.

THEY ARE POISONOUS.

Stop feeding him raisins immediately. He likes them b/c they’re sweet. Yeah, well, dogs drink antifreeze b/c it’s sweet, not knowing it’s poisonous.

Especially having a small mutt, a little goes a long way.

Try training him with fresh chicken breast, bits of cheddar or parmesan, or carrot sticks. These are healthy and won’t contribute to poor health and gum disease like many of the nasty commercial ‘treats’ available today.

Question: bathroom training?

I have a 11 month old yorkie who we got when she was 5 months old she wasnt housebroken by her previous owners but did come with pee pee pads we thought housetraining would be easy we tried newspaper,pee pee pads but she shreds them so then we bought her a crate she pees everyhwhere in there. She used to pee on herself as we would get closer to the cage to take her outside but has recenlty stopped doing that. Thank God! Everytime we catch her in the act of relieving herself and yell she keeps going until shes done she just stares at us like we are dumb. I’m all out of options for potty training. I have been consistant in taking her out after meals in the morning and all in between. We take her outside sometimes she goes and sometimes she comes in and does it. Is there a potty training technique for stubborn dogs? I need help for a hopeless Potty Training Dog! My husband is ready to get rid of her because she ruining our brand new house! Please help. I’ve tried everything!

Answer: Some dogs are next to impossible to train, but the most effective way I’ve found is crate training. You mentioned she messed in her crate. You may try a smaller crat. One that is just big enough for her to lay down in. When you take her out and know she probably needs to go stay out until she does no matter how long it takes. Then praise her or give her a treat every time she goes outside. When she has an accident grab her by the scruff and say no in a firm raised voice and take her outside. The pee pads is the likely the cause for all of your problems. In my opinion they are the worst. It teaches them it is ok to go inside. I wish you the best of luck. Remember be patient
