Train your dog to go Potty Outside
While potty training dogs, each time they need to eliminate
when dogs need to eliminate), take them outside to the area
where you want them to eliminate. You may need to carry
need to carry your dog or puppy there if the distance
is too far for your dog or puppy to hold it.
Take your dog to the exact spot you want him
to eliminate. If you just take your dog outside, your dog may
think the entire outside is his toilet. When your dog is at his
toilet spot, you should wait quietly. Don't act happy or
playful with your dog while potty training him at the right
spot or your dog will think it's playtime and would not
eliminate. Also, don't act annoyed or unhappy or your dog will
not want to eliminate in front of you. In which case, your dog
will eliminate while you are not looking wherever that may be.
Keep an eye on your dog until he has finished to make sure your
dog does not hold it until he gets back inside your house to
make a mess.
Keep the path to your dog's toilet spot
simple. You want your dog to remember how to get to that spot
easily and avoid any distractions during potty training.
